OYO Flagship 80512 Hotel New Aamaze Inn

They confirmed through the OYO website that a room would cost 600 per room/day, and I called to check the price. They said I could pay at the counter. I called again the day before check-in, but when I arrived they rejected that price and demanded another 1500. I have the calls recorded, but they still wouldn't agree. It was a waste of time and a hassle. No to this hotel.

The bed wasn't clean, the bathroom was tiny, and the room wasn't very good. A totally awful experience.

The receptionist looked annoyed before I even said anything. He'd just been dealing with four people who were denied entry, so I wondered if there was some issue. When it was my turn, he said in Hindi, "We can't offer a booking at this price. How are we supposed to run a business at this rate?" I pointed out that the rates were listed on the portal and wondered who else had put them there. I figured they'd refuse me too, so I simply asked them to confirm a cancellation waiver to the portal if requested. Another person was shouting like he was king of the world. I told him to learn some basic manners first, then walked out. Pathetic experience!

I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, but this Kolkata booking was a bad experience. I booked through Agoda, and the hotel wouldn’t honor it. The amount shown was different from what they said I had to pay, and the payment wasn’t refunded either. I didn’t run into this in Delhi, so be careful. Based on what happened to me, I’m worried other guests could get caught out too.
