Red Velvet Siddhi Vinayak by OYO Rooms

There were cockroaches across the floor, and I waited about 20 minutes to get a room key. The bedsheets were stained, there was no floor mat, and I couldn't get the TV on. I had to call room service three times to get proper attention. Service was dismissively poor, pretty much what this Oyo room seems to be about. Avoid it.

Don't trust the OYO listing, in my view. It showed AC and several other amenities, but at the property they said the low price meant I'd only get a non-AC room, and told me to cancel if I didn't accept. The rooms were dirty, with spiders around. It felt like rowdyism. Check the place in person and book only if you're comfortable, rather than through a third-party app like OYO. OYO customer care also responded very badly. I've decided to complain to the consumer authorities.

Writing this at 2:59 am because I can't sleep in this stinky room. The bed is dirty and smells, and the walls are stained. I think renovation has been going on for a year. The price is too high for the room, and only one room has Wi-Fi. Parking is available for two-wheelers, the AC works, there's a remote, and the light works. They don't charge extra for those.

I stayed here from 16 to 19 Oct 2021, unfortunately. It's the worst Oyo in Kolkata. The staff and management were uncooperative and unprofessional, and staff kept trying to get extra money. For an extended stay, they wanted payment transferred to their private accounts. The linen and walls were dirty and stained, the room smelled bad, bedsheets weren't changed regularly, and rooms weren't cleaned despite repeated requests. They don't seem to care, since local couples coming for leisure keep bringing them business. Owner, are you listening?
