Scout Garden by OYO Rooms

The property was fine and had greenery, but the washrooms by the banquet hall training area weren't clean and could be cleaner. They could also add some mirrors in the washrooms.

I booked one night because I needed to pick up a relative from the airport, and went there with my dad. At reception they said a marriage certificate was required, which was unbelievable. We offered proof that we were father and daughter, but they still said unmarried couples aren't allowed.

The resort has a lovely natural setting with Scouts camp nearby, and it's close to the airport and New Barrackpore station. There's a large open ground, plus two indoor reception halls, so it works for weddings, parties, or picnics. The rooms are separate mud house style, nicely decorated, and the staff were good. The manager, Kaushik Chanda, was very friendly. I visited on 31st December and two families were celebrating New Year there, so I got to enjoy the bonfire, lighting decorations, and fireworks. For a one or two day stay as a couple or small group, I'd suggest going on an occasion date. It's family and couple friendly. If booking through oyo, I recommend not doing that. Check their Instagram page for contact details, since getting the number from Google redirects your call to oyo.

I stayed for two days and liked the place, and I'd visit again if I got the chance. The camp style rooms give this Oyo a different feel, sometimes it didn't even seem like an Oyo. It's a big property with a banquet area and large ground for parties or weddings. Being near Madhyamgram railway station makes getting there and back easy. A few things need work: the rooms need renovation, the place could be cleaned a bit more, and the intercoms need to work.
