I used this basic hotel as a stopover while traveling through Kolkata on the way to and from Sunderbans. It’s conveniently about 20 km from the airport. Be careful with bookings, though. One of mine wasn’t honored, and several others in our group reported similar problems.

Reasonable price, neat and clean, good staff, and a peaceful stay. The downside is the food. Unlike around Sealdah, there’s no rice hotel here with a good lunch available. Around Sealdah you can find a lunch thali for Rs 40 to Rs 70. For the lack of a good lunch, I give zero star.

The rooms were spacious, in good condition and well maintained, and the staff were very polite. The hotel is in a cozy area that I loved, with plenty of restaurants and food shops nearby. There’s also a small banquet space that can fit around 100 people. For a small party, you can use a separate kitchen if you bring your own caterer. It can be booked for a wedding too, but you have to book very early.

We booked for a wedding in December 2020 and paid an advance of 35000, with a receipt. The plan was canceled in January 2021, so we asked for our money back, but we still hadn’t received it by November 2021. Please be careful before booking or paying an advance.

The staff were rude, and the intercom dial didn’t even work.
