The hotel didn't live up to our expectations, and the facilities felt equivalent to a 3 star hotel. There are better hotels near the Airport at much more reasonable rates. Check-in was complicated: the staff weren't familiar with the booking types or how to change the plan, and it took quite a lot of explanation to get the plan I wanted after a last moment change. The room wasn't in the best shape or well maintained, and there was no soundproofing at all, so we could hear people talking in the next room. Breakfast was just okay, the usual fare. Staff didn't proactively explain what the package included, and even though we booked for 3 guests, we had to ask for a pair of slippers and a toothbrush. There were positives too. Dinner had an excellent spread, and we got the best service in the dining area. The smart TV worked perfectly, including logging in and out of personal apps. The lifts were superfast, and staff in the dining and breakfast areas were very kind.

The highlight of our one-day staycation was the jacuzzi in the Taj Club room. It was spacious, well maintained, and partly open to the sky, making it feel like a lovely, almost private pool. My wife and I stayed at Taj City Centre, Kolkata, and they gave us an early check-in as requested, which we appreciated. The room was decent and comfortable, with minimal anniversary decorations and a surprise cake from the team, a thoughtful gesture. Dinner's spread and presentation didn't quite meet typical Taj standards, while breakfast was decent and satisfactory. The spa services are good, but you'll need to book ahead. If you want a jacuzzi that feels like a small private pool, this property is recommendable for a short, relaxing staycation. 🛁✨

My suite with a pool was amazing. Taj City Centre New Town, Kolkata is close to the airport and shopping, and offers tours and concierge help for getting around the city. I also enjoyed the hotel's blend of Bengal's art and local craftsmanship with a modern feel and vintage touches. It has 137 rooms and 10 suites, plus J Wellness Circle, several dining options, Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, grand event venues, and pet-friendly stays. A luxurious break from the city's bustle.

The team at reception handled every request quickly and efficiently, and the staff at Shamiyana were just as welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. The all-day restaurant served delicious food. Our room was spotless and spacious, with fresh, crisp linen that made it especially comfortable. Taj City Centre New Town, Kolkata is one of the best hotels in the city, and I'd recommend it for the comfort and service.

The staff were cheerful and very helpful, and the rooms were roomy and well kept. Breakfast tasted great, though the buffet selection was only average. It's mainly a business hotel, with a few banquet spaces that can also host weddings. The location is handy for both the airport and Salt Lake City. Prices are reasonable for Kolkata, but dynamic pricing can sometimes push them up. A solid 4.5/5-star hotel.
