The Kei Suites

I was staying alone in a single room. The previous caretaker from Odisha was a good, polite guy, but the current one is very bad. He got drinks from customers in other rooms, drank too much, then played music at full volume at 2 am. When I asked him to turn it down and speak quietly, he said other customers were more valuable than me because they'd offered him drinks. He told me to leave if I didn't want to stay. Imagine being asked to leave at 2 am, as if my father had booked the room for free.

It's a calm, clean, comfortable place, and the service is excellent. Mr.Ram was very helpful, and we liked his service. Lots of tourist spots and temples are close by.

The caretakers, Shankar and Ram, were kind and helpful, and this 4 star rating is for them. There aren't many places to eat nearby, but you can head to Park Street or ask Shankar & Ram to order food from a nearby dhaba. The B&B is a single flat in a building, just a minute's walk from Forum mall on Elgin road. It's hard to spot, but only a stones throw from Allenby Inn. Park Street and other parts of Kolkata are easy to reach by metro, and Rabindra sadan metro station, gate 4, is a 5mins walk from the property.

The place is very central, and the caretaker is helpful and available around the clock. The room itself is dull and dimly lit, though, and you'll need to carry your luggage up the stairs.
