The Park Kolkata

The rooms feel too dark and cramped for a five-star hotel, and gave me the sort of shady-movie impression. The staff, though, provided excellent service, and the room-service burger was one of the best I’ve had. Park Street is a great location with easy access, though the route through what looked like an abandoned hotel cafe/bar was odd. For me, the location is the main reason to pay to stay here.

Getting around from The Park Kolkata is easy, with Park Street Metro station nearby and places like the Victoria Memorial and Indian Museum close enough for sightseeing. We arrived late at night, but check-in was smooth and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade. Breakfast at The Bridge had a tempting range, from Indian classics to global dishes, pastries, bakery items, and drinks. I also liked having a choice between relaxed indoor seating and an open-air space. A lovely mix of convenience and luxury for families.

The location works really well, with good places to hang out within walking distance, and the hotel still has strong brand value. But the rooms feel much too old and dark for the price. The black furniture and fixtures, along with the dim lighting, make everything look gloomy. Even the heavy bathroom door slides awkwardly. They really need to rethink the room decor.

The staff were a real highlight, always polite and helpful during my visit. I also found the rooms clean, stylish, and comfortable. The Park, Kolkata is right in the heart of Park Street, which made exploring the city easy. A premium stay that would suit a business trip or a holiday. Highly recommended.
