The food was good, especially the fish moily and mutton khurma, though there’s only one restaurant and no nearby places to eat, so choices are limited. There’s no bar, and getting liquor is a big problem. Set among coconut trees, the resort has glorious ocean views and an excellent location, but it’s in Mulloor and may be difficult to reach. The rooms are okay, nothing much to write about.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort offers luxurious accommodation surrounded by Kovalam Beach, with amazing views and a place to get away from busy, dull, monotonous city life. It has Ayurveda and Yoga facilities every day, known among tourists from around the world, and dining that makes a stay memorable. In each room: a mini refrigerator, telephone with international direct dialing, hot and cold running water, TV, 24-hour room service, hot water, safe locker, and international direct dialing telephone. Hotel facilities include weekend cultural programs, laundry, doctor on call, taxi service, internet, fax, a well-stocked library, souvenir shops, baby-sitting, VISA and MasterCard acceptance, and money changing.

The view of the Indian Ocean is beautiful. Since work started on Vizhinjam port, though, that beauty is coming to an end.
