Amika Hotel - Madurai

We wanted an overnight stop before heading to Keeladi the next morning, and this new hotel worked for us. It's quite far from the city, with hardly any shops nearby, but suited our plans. The rooms are very spacious and kept clean. Breakfast was excellent, with the usual South Indian choices as well as continental options.

The service was quick, warm, and attentive, and the chutneys tasted freshly made. I loved the South Indian breakfast: crisp Dosa, soft Idlis, and Vada, all cooked just right. The Sambhar was rich and authentic, and the Idlis were light and fluffy. The food was outstanding. A top-tier breakfast and a genuine 5-star experience from beginning to end. This place is a must-visit!

There was an unexpected rush outside while a politician was checked in and a large group of supporters gathered. Inside, though, the staff and security kept everything calm. Guests weren't disturbed, and the atmosphere stayed peaceful. The hotel handled the crowds professionally, just as the staff handled everything else. Check-in and checkout were seamless, breakfast was well managed with a good spread and attentive service, and the team was friendly and ready to help. My stay was stress-free and the hospitality stood out. One of the best hotels I've stayed at on a visit to Madurai. I'd gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting.

We lost a room card in the room and they charged us for the missing card, which was the most ridiculous part. Service needs to improve. Check-in took around 20 to 25 minutes, and checkout was just as slow because staff were multitasking and leaving guests waiting. Breakfast had very few options and was tasteless. The rooms were spacious, but cleanliness fell short of expectations. Service was terrible.
