Hotel Peacock

If you’re doing a yoga retreat at the Peacock, it’s a great place to stay in Kovalam. Bijoy, the owner, was so lovely and went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and safe. It felt like staying with family. Highly recommend.

What really made me want to write this was the people. Bejoy, his family, and the team were kind and patient, always ready to answer questions, help us out, and organize our outings. They seemed to care about looking after guests, and I’m really grateful for their warmth and for being there whenever we needed something. The hotel is simple, but it’s great value for the price. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well ventilated, which made them comfortable in the tropical weather. It’s also about a 5-minute walk or less to the beach. I loved sitting on the terraces, watching birds and listening to nature. There are two open-air yoga spaces on the rooftop for guests, a lovely bonus for quiet moments. I slept well and felt looked after throughout our stay. I’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

For the past 4 years, I’ve stayed at the Peacock Hotel for a month each time, and it feels like my home away from home in India. It’s a budget-friendly place with clean, comfortable rooms, nothing fancy, but very good for the price. The rooftop is great for yoga, and the location puts you close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Bijoy and the management staff are what make it special. He’s the definition of hospitality and goes out of his way to make guests feel safe and make sure they have what they need.

Lino Miele & Desiree run a spectacular ashtanga workshop in the rooftop shala in Dec and Jan. Hotel owner and manager Bijoy is very kind and attentive to guests. He can also help arrange airport and excursion travel.
