Stay Period: 31st January to 01st February 2026 Jasmine Palace’s location near the beach, within walking distance, was its only good point. The rest of the stay was extremely disappointing. It felt more like a dharamshala than a hotel, and the room was messy and poorly maintained. The bed was bad, and the pillows, blankets, and towels looked unwashed. Some towels even had holes. Basic cleanliness and comfort were missing. Hygiene in the restaurant was very poor too. Water bottles were left out in the open, attracting mosquitoes and spiders, and cups had dead spiders inside. That shows a serious lack of cleanliness, unacceptable for accommodation, especially for tourists. The food was average, nothing special. The main problem was when food was available. Don’t expect to order anything after lunch and before dinner, when the kitchen is effectively shut. We tried to get noodles in the evening and got a blunt answer that they don’t make food then, with no effort to help us. Poor hygiene, uncomfortable rooms, and unprofessional service, along with a lack of basic hospitality, made the stay not worth the money or time and not worth remembering. Strongly not recommended.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds and bedding were comfortable. The pool and general atmosphere were good too, though the hotel is old, so I wouldn’t expect modern amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Kovalam and Hawa Beach are both about 100 meters away, with shops nearby for basics. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, but the restaurant could use a refresh and only serves breakfast and dinner. You can order food from outside at other times. Given the setting, expect to see some insects.

I spent two days here, and the room had several basic problems. The sheets weren’t clean, the bed was uncomfortable, and there was no kettle or other expected essentials. The AC didn’t work properly, made a lot of noise, and its remote was faulty. None of the electrical outlets worked either, which was a real inconvenience. Maintenance and service were very poor. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless the facilities and housekeeping improve significantly.

The stay was okay, but the food was disappointing and needs improvement in both quality and variety. The towels in my room also seemed old and worn. For TV, there was only a regular cable connection, with no YouTube or OTT access, which felt dated. A few changes to the dining and room technology would make this a better property.

We checked in on 16.01.26 and left on 18.01.26. The staff were so helpful and well behaved, and the reception was very good. When I mentioned that I hate aeroplane food, they even packed us a light lunch. Beautiful hotel, very nice stay. I strongly recommend it.
