The Gateway Hotel Beach Road Calicut

The pool was a real highlight, one of the largest I've seen at a five-star hotel. It's also easy to get to both the city and the beach. We had a pleasant, comfortable stay at The Gateway Hotel, Calicut, with clean, well-kept rooms and a calm atmosphere. The food tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and came with rich flavors and great presentation. Service staff were attentive and helpful, and everyone was courteous. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Calicut.

They provide a refrigerator, iron, ironing board, and kettle. The soap is a handy large size, and the shampoo, body lotion, and body wash come in dispensers instead of small bottles. Service was very good, the linen was clean, and both rooms and washrooms were a good size. There's gated, guarded parking inside for about 20-25 cars, plus a very large adjacent lot that isn't gated or guarded. The bathroom has only a bathing tub, which isn't slippery and serves its purpose, but older people may find it hard to get in and out. Water pressure was good. The AC won't go below 21. They clean the room while you're away and with your consent, which I think is a breach of privacy.

A cozy, rustic place with a nice setting, a pool, and a friendly staff. It's not too far by the beach. Breakfast was great too. Thanks to Swaroop and the housekeeping team for making my stay comfortable. It's one of the more comfortable hotels I've stayed in, and makes me want to visit calicut more often.

The two weeks of treatment left us feeling completely rejuvenated. We'd first visited The Gateway Hotel twenty years ago for the same therapy, and returned for an Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment led by the AVP (Coimbatore) team. Dr. Vinitha headed a compassionate, highly skilled group of therapists whose professional, guest-focused care left no room for disappointment. We'd happily come back for treatment under AVP's guidance. The hotel lived up to Taj Group expectations with warm welcomes, inventive Ayurvedic vegetarian menus, and attentive restaurant staff. Mr. Murali Krishna deserves special thanks for making every guest feel at home. We're grateful to the AVP Ayurveda team and all Gateway staff for an unforgettable stay.
