Coconut Lagoon - Cgh Earth

We came to Coconut Lagoon, Kumarakom for my daughter’s birthday, and the staff went out of their way to make it special. Their kindness and genuine smiles made us feel at home. From the moment we arrived, the place felt peaceful, with nature, culture, and warm hospitality all around. There’s lush greenery, quiet backwaters, coconut trees, birds, gentle breezes, and traditional Kerala architecture throughout the property. It was soothing everywhere we looked, and the atmosphere was quiet and refreshing. The food, culture, nature, and hospitality made the stay feel like a real taste of Kerala. If you want to experience Kerala, I’d say stay at Coconut Lagoon. I can’t recommend it enough. You’ll fall for the place as soon as you arrive.

The food was a real highlight. There was a wide choice, especially authentic South Indian and Kerala dishes, and we loved the live counters and outstanding desserts. We also appreciated how genuine the activities felt. I’ll leave the details to other reviews and social media posts that cover them well. What made this one of our best holidays was the warm hospitality and spacious grounds. The team worked hard to make everyone comfortable, and I rarely see a hotel put this much care into service. That meant more to me than the usual facilities elsewhere. We left with happy memories, teary eyes, and a strong wish to come back someday.

The staff were wonderful, the food was fabulous, and I loved the room, the sustainability and recycling ethos, and all the extra activities they laid on so generously. This was one of the highlights of our three-week India trip, and I’ve travelled widely without finding many places this special. The fitness centre was my one big gripe. For a group so focused on wellness, it’s a poor show. It’s smaller than a bedroom, far from the main accommodation, and the equipment looks decades old. I’m in favour of recycling, but not old gym equipment. Management should be ashamed of this, honestly.

Beautiful place, well equipped and well kept. I enjoyed every day here, and the food was prepared to a very high standard by Head Chef Sadwarta. We tried everything and it was excellent. There’s lots to do from early morning until late, though simply relaxing here is just as rewarding. Put it on your list, you won’t regret visiting.
