Rhythm Kumarakom

We booked at the last minute without looking into it first, and were pleasantly surprised by how great a place it was to stay. The rooms were clean and the food was excellent. I’d like them to offer simple options like idli and dosa throughout the day, since sometimes we’re not hungry enough for rich food. Hari gave me a fantastic Ayurvedic massage. I’d strongly recommend the place.

The main pool ended up being a real highlight for us. It was clean, clear and warm, and since it was right beside our veranda, we’d probably skip paying for a plunge pool villa next time and save a bit. We spent four nights there and had a lovely, restful stay. The room felt good value, with a firm but comfortable queen bed, a clean spacious bathroom, and air conditioning that worked especially well with the fans. There was a small leak near the toilet. I didn’t mention it, assuming housekeeping would already know. Service was outstanding at reception and in the restaurant. Ashna deserves a special mention for the amazing care she gave us. Everyone was genuinely friendly and happy to chat, and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the complimentary boat ride, though we would have paid extra for a proper tour instead. A few things could be improved: there was cappuccino on the menu, but it wasn’t available, and the coffee we could get was instant powder rather than espresso. A coffee machine would be a good investment. There was also a bar that wasn’t in use. Since drinks were only available from the restaurant, it would be handy to get soft drinks there. As Rhythm kumarakom is a first stop for many visitors, a small shop with things like suncream, toothpaste and mouthwash could be useful too.

The hotel felt like good value for money, and I’d definitely return. I was very happy with the service, and the pool was clean and pleasant. The complimentary back water was a bonus. I did miss having a shower cap in the room, and the toilet roll could be better quality.

We stayed in a pool side villa and loved the views, birdsong, daily boat rides, and the excellent food and service. My partner and I had a wonderful, magical and very relaxing time at this beautiful resort. Arranging spa services was a little difficult because communication during booking wasn’t easy, but that was our only negative. We’d absolutely come back and would recommend Rhythm to others.
