Coffee Inn

The quiet, green setting away from the busy town was a big part of our relaxing stay at Coffee Inn Thekkady. We enjoyed waking up to the cool Thekkady weather and natural surroundings, and the property felt peaceful for our family trip. Our room was roomy, clean, and well looked after, with the basic amenities we needed, simple but nice interiors, and a comfortable bed. Staff were attentive, polite, and quick to help whenever we asked. The food was tasty and hygienic, with a good range and homely flavors. The resort was well maintained, and we’d happily visit again. A calm and comfortable option in Thekkady for families, couples, or groups.

I booked this guesthouse expecting the nature view, possible wildlife sightings, and a garden restaurant it had been recommended for. Those features are no longer really there. A large new hotel blocks much of the view, there’s no restaurant on site, and the garden isn’t set up for guests, with little proper seating. The wooden viewing tower facing nature is in ruins, and there’s no sign it will reopen soon. Check-in was easy, and the staff were welcoming and polite. Our room was spacious and clean, but very noisy: it faced the road and had holes in the walls toward the corridor. We heard traffic, an outside generator, the huge neighboring hotel, and people in nearby rooms late into the night. The road-facing balcony was useless, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable.

Room 9 had a sunny balcony and lovely views, and the house itself was beautiful and quiet. The staff were kind, too. But we saw the biggest cockroaches of our lives here, and the bed linens were dirty. Staff also woke us early. I’d warn people against staying here because of the cockroaches.

Right in the heart of Thekkady, Coffee inn has lovely rooms and beautiful aesthetics. The staff were really kind and good, and it felt safe for a woman traveling solo. A beautiful stay at a reasonable price.
