Wild Window - Forest View Homestay

Our host was friendly and suggested several sightseeing spots, and the place itself was top notch. We stayed two nights in the top floor of this privately run homestay, owned by a retired couple. The rooms were clean and spacious, and it was close to the Periyar booking counter, which suited our plan to visit the wildlife sanctuary. Service was a little lacking, as there were no bell boys for luggage, and lunch and dinner were only available on request because staff were unavailable. Still, the host kindly helped my senior-citizen mother carry one heavy bag, and on our last night he made delicious South Indian-style chicken curry with rice at our request. There’s a small parking area for one guest car at a time, plus an in-house driver’s toilet for guests arriving with a driver. The main drawback for my mother, who has a knee joint issue, was climbing the stairs to the top floor. Otherwise, everything was really nice, and I’d recommend it to friends and family. Kudos to the host for the thoughtful gesture.

The views at Wild Window Forest View Homestay are stunning, and the price is affordable. We called George around noon to book a room, and he responded quickly, making everything easy and stress-free. The stay was peaceful, and seeing a deer at night was a lovely surprise. Thanks, George, for the prompt help.

This has been our best stay so far on our Kerala bike trip. The family is sweet and welcoming, and the rooms are super clean. It really feels like home. The homestay is right by the forest, and from our balcony we saw deer, wild boars, and even monkeys. It was peaceful and beautiful. They ask guests not to leave food on the balcony, since monkeys can make a mess. Just bring packets inside and use the dustbin. Those simple instructions help keep things neat and safe for everyone. Uncle and Aunty clean and prepare everything themselves with so much care before each guest arrives, so please respect them and their home. This is a homestay, not a five-star hotel, and that’s part of the charm. They don’t serve food, so don’t expect full hotel-style services; it’s purely a place to stay. The hosts are genuinely hospitable, and before we arrived they shared useful details about places to visit and eat in Thekkady, which made things much easier and more enjoyable.

The hosts gave us a warm welcome, and the atmosphere was very good. It’s a nice homestay at a very competitive rate. Seeing wild animals after 10 pm is guaranteed. May the Almighty bless the hosts and their guests.
