River Tern Lodge

The boat safari was a unique and beautiful part of the stay. We saw fewer animals than at Bandipur, but watched several herds of elephants along the banks of the river Bhadra. Log huts are more peaceful, though if you’re travelling with a senior citizen, make sure to book the deluxe package because those rooms are closer to the Golghar and safari meeting points. It’s among the pricier JLR properties, and I felt it was worth it. The staff provided top-notch service across cleanliness, food and safaris. Thanks, Jungle lodges, for another great holiday!

I’m into wildlife photography, so the safari was a big draw for me. You do have to walk quite a bit to get to the rooms, but I thought it was worth it. The location alone gets five stars from me, and the staff and hospitality were amazing. One of the best properties of Jungle Lodges & Resorts.

The boat safari was a highlight for us. We spotted several birds and deer, and even a crocodile. The cottages were clean and comfortable, and fit in beautifully with the surroundings. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good, with a decent range of choices. I recently visited River Tern Lodge with my family, and it was an unforgettable stay. Right beside the backwaters of the Bhadra Reservoir, the setting is stunning, with breathtaking views at sunrise and sunset. It’s a lovely place to unwind and connect with nature, especially for wildlife and nature lovers.

The guides know the area’s flora and fauna well, though what you spot on the boat and jungle safaris is a matter of luck. Rooms are spacious, and both the food and service were great. I visited in Nov,25 with a friend. It’s a nice place, but the resort isn’t senior citizen friendly.
