Tango Beach Resort

Waking up to the ocean sounds and sea view at Tango Beach Resort was unforgettable. It’s peaceful and well-kept, and the rooms were clean, neat, and spacious enough to feel comfortable and relaxed. We also really enjoyed the delicious, well-prepared food, which surpassed what we expected. Beautiful surroundings and great hospitality made our stay on Neil Island memorable. I’d recommend it to other visitors.

The private beach and sea view were the one real plus. You can’t swim there, but it’s peaceful to sit by the water any time of day. The room was so small there was barely space to walk with luggage open, and it was dusty with spider webs. A socket board was coming off the wall, and the bath towels were stained. The bathroom was just as cramped, with nowhere for toiletries, so the resort left them in a cupboard outside it. The pool was open until 9pm, but was dirty with dead insects floating in it and hardly any visibility. The drain clogged after our first shower because of old hair. The bathroom foot mat was torn all around, and the bucket looked old and dirty. Wifi was unreliable, though staff said that was the case across Neil island.

I checked into Tango Resort today, and Room 316 smelled strongly of fish as soon as I walked in. The AC and exhaust fan were both out of order, and it seemed nobody had checked the room before handing it over. The bathroom had neither toilet paper nor handwash. When I called reception, they casually said they were out of handwash. A hotel running out of basic hygiene supplies is hard to accept. Poor management, no hygiene, and no professionalism. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Please don’t waste your money or book here.

We spotted lots of crabs and snails around the property and by the water. The pool was clean and breakfast was fine. At high tide, we walked along the water from the hotel beach to sunset point beach in about 15 minutes, with five dogs trailing after us for food. We watched the sunset, then looked at the stars with a guide and telescope for ₹300 per person. Nice place.
