Hotel Antelope TM, Leh

The food was awful, and the water they served was dirty, so we felt pushed to buy bottled water from them. Our room and towels were dirty too. Mr Zubair was rude, always defending himself and unwilling to listen to suggestions for improvement. Staying here for three nights felt like a punishment. I also don’t understand why MMT officials chose to partner with this property.

Hotel Antelope Leh has a nice location, but the management was pathetic. The rooms weren’t clean, the towels were dirty, and the furniture and carpet were so dusty you couldn’t walk barefoot. Dinner began at 8.30pm, and all the food was cold. The owner blamed the cold weather, even though it was May, and wouldn’t accept the problem. He was rude and unwilling to hear about the shortcomings, while seeming happy with the ‘Make My Trip’ tie-up because it brings him customers. We checked out at 5.30am. Breakfast was included in the price, but he charged us for morning tea. His reason was that we couldn’t walk barefoot to have breakfast at 8am, so tea at 5.30 was chargeable. The food standard was the worst. My advice is to avoid getting trapped by Make My Trip or this hotel in Leh.

The hotel sits right below the Shanti Stupa, with an amazing view of it. It’s in a quiet spot away from the market, and cabs are easy to get. The hotel can arrange one if you need it. Staff were friendly, helpful, and happy to accommodate requests. Very good place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

The view of the Shanti Stupa and snow-covered mountains is beautiful, the kind you just keep looking at. We spent seven days at Hotel Antelope and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are decent and have the basic amenities. Zubair ji is an amazing person and a one-stop solution for problems, while Mohan ji and his team run the hotel very well and are polite and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it for a holiday in Leh.
