The views are amazing, and the place feels much closer to nature than the higher priced options, where you can miss the natural beauty by staying indoors. There are plenty of sightseeing choices and other activities, and the resort style stay suited us well. The staff were friendly, and the little kittens in the house were adorable.

The grounds are huge, about 100 acres, with buckthorn, thistles, and poplar trees, and the Indus marks the boundary while still small. From this lowest point in Leh, the property has magnificent views of the city and snow-capped peaks, with more oxygen than higher areas. The Last Resort is at Palam, about 15 minutes from Leh's airport. Leh sits around 12,000 feet in the foothills of the Karakoram and Himalayas, so it can be tough until you adapt to the altitude. The semi-permanent tents are sturdy and comfortable, and the rooms are a good size with surprisingly luxurious en suite bathrooms. The kitchen serves excellent meals, especially useful since good food can be hard to find in much of Leh. Once acclimated, it’s a place where children and older people alike can enjoy themselves.

The room was lovely and spotless, with the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. There’s also a lush green garden and a peaceful atmosphere. I stayed with a friend for three days, and we were really happy to have found this place. The prices are excellent. Remember The Last Resort, it’s the best resort in Ladakh!

The Casba Farm in Mohali feels like a simple, authentic place to vacation, where time slows down and everything comes together. Timber Trail, on the Himalayan Expressway, has drawn visitors for the past few years. Its scenic mountain setting, green vegetation, and blue sky make it feel thrilling and almost too beautiful to be real. Being close to nature there is a memorable experience, and it’s a lovely place to visit with family or friends.

The tents were fantastic, the service felt five-star, and the food was the best I think I’ve had in India so far. I fell for the peace, beauty, and simplicity of Last Resort right away. It’s away from the city but close enough that you can head back if you start missing the comforts of civilization. A huge thank you for the kindness, which meant so much to me.
