Hangout Villas

Hangout Villa is in very bad shape for guests. There seems to be no one managing it, and the staff can’t do their jobs. Guests are having a hard time, and staff aren’t even being paid their salaries. Subodh Hegde is the person managing the villa.

For 4000 a night, we were totally satisfied and glad we ended up staying one night after trying to cancel because of earlier reviews. Our villa had two upstairs bedrooms, a large hall and dining area downstairs, a single bed in the hall, and three bathrooms, two upstairs and one down. The location is quiet but not far inside from the road, and the city center is about seven minutes away, making Lonavala points nearby. The bedrooms and bathrooms felt like four-star quality and were comfortable, with excellent water pressure. Only soap was provided, but a supermarket is very close for other toiletries. The reception and room service were flawless, quick to respond, and very cordial. The pool wasn’t huge, but wasn’t tiny either. With Bushy dam dry, it saved the day: we had loads of fun splashing around for hours. It was clean and big enough as long as it wasn’t crowded. The food wasn’t all bad. I loved the chai and vegetarian items, but the chicken didn’t taste good to me. Maybe others will have a different experience. The kitchen stays open until 10 pm, which seems fine. Parking isn’t ideal, though there is space outside the gate and it wasn’t too bad. The wifi didn’t work.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, but the villa was much smaller than the photos made it look. From outside it looks nice, yet the pictures are really misleading, especially about the pool, which is very small. It was dirty when we visited, and they didn’t clean it despite our repeated requests. There’s no parking, so you’ll need to leave your car on the street. We were very disappointed with our stay.

We left frustrated, without even taking photos, and this was a bad stay that’s cost them a repeat guest. We’d booked the two-bedroom villa and this was our second visit. The first time had been very good, but this time the rooms were damp, with pollen and fungus on the bed’s backrest, sheets, and comforter. Someone with a pollen allergy would be in serious trouble here. The food wasn’t great either: the pizza was soggy and the pasta tasted bitter, almost like medicine had been added. Staff didn’t help with our complaints. The next morning there was no hot water and no backup, so we left without a shower.
