Hotel Matruchhaya Lonavala

There’s no restaurant here, but Rama Krishna nearby was great: hygienic food at reasonable prices. The property is older, though it’s kept neat, and having a balcony was a nice bonus. Shops and the main road are close, and the stay is budget-friendly. Staff sorted out the TV and AC remotes when they didn’t work at check-in. Wi-Fi could be faster. Towels are supplied, but bring your own toiletries. Also, there’s no lift, which could be awkward with heavy bags. A decent choice for a short visit.

The rooms were average, and there was no room service, restaurant, lift, or help with luggage. The lack of a lift was especially hard for the senior citizens with us, and we had to order food from outside. We paid 4 k + because it was a long weekend. At checkout, which is at 10am, reception called three times, at 8:30am, 9:00am, and 9:45am, to remind us. The attitude was very rude and arrogant, especially from the person looking after reception. Our driver told us Lonavala gets overcrowded on weekends and in season, and that finding a hotel without booking ahead is difficult. He said high demand leaves staff at many mid-range hotels unprofessional and uncaring, and that some buy Google reviews for marketing. I can only speak to our stay, but based on it I wouldn't book this place for a vacation with family or friends. I got to see a different side of the local people of Lonava.

The location was convenient, and parking was available. Our room was clean, the service was good, and I really enjoyed staying here. I'd recommend it to anyone after good budget accommodation.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel has recently been refurbished. It’s well maintained, close to the market and railway station, yet set away from Lonavala’s noisy areas.
