Ilif 2801 Dream Holidays, Lonavala

I wouldn’t recommend this room to a family. We were first given an unclean room, and when we complained, the person blamed the cleaner. We had to insist that he clean the washroom. The next day, when we asked for the room to be cleaned, they told us to stand there and make sure it was done properly. Isn’t cleaning their responsibility? There were cockroaches, the balcony was dirty, and the washroom had a broken window instead of an exhaust fan. After seeing the rooms and dirty pool water, we decided not to use the pool. The property is worth one star or less. MakeMyTrip customer care was unhelpful too. We booked through them, and they only replied after six days to say the room wasn’t refundable. The city and Narayani temple are a 15-20 minute walk away, and there may be better hotels around. If you need to get around, a vendor has left a card at reception and can arrange cars or autos 24 hours a day.

The two people at reception were extremely rude and acted like thugs. There was no fixed tariff, they just quoted whatever they felt like, and the breakfast had to be served in the room. There was no lift, no security at the gate, and the restaurant wasn’t operating during our visit. The glass partition at reception was missing, perhaps broken and never replaced. It’s an old property that hasn’t been well maintained. The room furniture was in poor shape, and the sheets weren’t very clean. Staff refused to replace them. The photos seem to have been taken when the place was new. Check the property in person before paying an advance. The owners need to replace the staff.

The view from the room was good, and the sunset from the balcony was instagrammeble. But breakfast was terrible. We paid 200rs extra per day for it, and all they offered was cold poha or upma. The biggest problem was Saturday night, when the building’s water tank was empty and there was no water until 7:30 AM, even in the washroom. There was no tea in the afternoon or at night either. The rooms were dirty, had cockroaches, and service of any kind was slow. Way too expensive, and a waste of money.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were decent, though for the price I think they could be improved. Getting around was the main drawback. The location wasn't very accessible, and autorickshaw fares in lonavala were quite high.
