Hotel Bandhan

The food was good quality, light on the stomach, and reminded me of homemade cooking. Staff were very polite and kept track of even the small requests, and the rooms were clean and well furnished. It felt like a warm, guest-focused stay. I’d like to come back.

The location is a real plus. Bhootnath market metro escalator is about 100 metres from the front gate, and there are coffee shops, restaurants, fruit sellers, and other shops just a short walk away. My second room was spacious, reasonably equipped, and had suitable furniture and fixtures. The stay got off to a bad start when I called a day before check-in to confirm my booking. They gave me another number, and the man who answered wasn’t very polite. He was reluctant to look through the records and initially gave me a bureaucratic answer, asking me to send the booking ID on WhatsApp so he could check later. I kept pressing, and he did confirm it over the phone. It was poor customer service. I rejected the first room because its mattress was too soft and bad for my back and spine. It also had a sliding window without grills and with a faulty lock, which felt risky for security, plus the lighting was inadequate. I moved rooms because of the mattress. The room’s only sliding window opens onto a duct sealed on all sides, so there’s no natural daylight. That felt depressing and unsettling, and the stale air in the room seemed unhealthy. One night, a birthday party in the hall one floor below was extremely loud until 12:30 a.m. and later. When I complained, I was told it was the birthday of a police officer’s child and they couldn’t do much. That says a lot about the hotel, city, state, and country. It was a bad experience. There are several things that need attention in the room. The TV is too small for its size, the lighting isn’t good for reading, and two bedside lamps and a night light would help. The AC remote is old and awkward to use. The toilet exhaust fan doesn’t work, and the toilet needs a deep clean because it’s dirty in places. Stale air has nowhere to go, which doesn’t seem healthy. The flush is weak and doesn’t clear properly even after several tries. They should keep a water-sweeping mop in there. I needed Dettol or another disinfectant for a wound, but the front desk had none. It’s surprising and unacceptable for a hotel not to have a first-aid kit. Simple requests for toilet paper or mineral water also took too long. The receptionist had to be reminded about earlier requests; his communication was basic, though he was trying to help.

I was in Lucknow for business and found this a good place to stay. The staff behaved well, and I wasn’t charged extra. It’s good value and conveniently close to the metro, so getting to the airport or railway station is easy. Thank you.

There are good places to shop nearby, and the metro is less than a minute’s walk away, so the location is convenient. Staff were well behaved and service was quick.
