The quiet setting worked well for studying, and the single occupancy rooms are affordable, with their own toilet and bathroom. Shops are right outside, and transport links are good: Sitapur highway is about a 100-metre walk. I stayed a week while taking marine technical courses at nearby CMET academy. The place was extremely unhygienic, with mosquitoes everywhere and bathrooms that weren’t kept clean. Water pressure was very low, and there was nowhere to hang washed clothes to dry, which is a problem if you stay long enough to need to do laundry. The food at the in-house canteen was below average, though there’s plenty of local street food outside.

There was no electricity when I checked in, and staff said it wasn’t their problem because the premises had no power backup. I was told to wait indefinitely. The room I got also wasn’t the one I’d selected online: it was a tiny 8m² single room with a single bed and no amenities. There were no blankets, no bathroom shower, and the room wasn’t clean. You can see cigarettes in the pictures. No staff were available to help, either.

They refused to honor my booking and said the classic rooms were full, then wanted extra money for an upgrade to a higher class room. I’d already paid, but they denied receiving that payment and demanded the full extra charge again. The manager was very rude. It was the worst experience I’ve had, and I think the other positive reviews are fake and written by his friends.

I paid the OYO booking amount online, but at reception they still demanded extra money in cash, saying they didn’t know whether I’d paid. This is a scam.
