Nice staff, okay room, and a good location. There was dampness on the wall, though, and I spotted a few cockroaches.

There were cockroaches all over the room and around the bed, and the place was not clean. When I complained, a staff member came and sprayed Hit, but they refused to change my room and said this was normal. The hotel isn’t worth what they charge, and the staff weren’t supportive. Everyone seemed to want a tip, which I didn’t feel was deserved given the poor service. I would not recommend staying here, especially for a woman travelling alone.

The staff were professional and helpful, and their behavior made a positive difference. The hotel near Charbagh in Lucknow is in a convenient spot that isn’t too crowded, and for the price the room was decent. Still, the rooms and bathrooms need better maintenance. The bathroom fittings look outdated and should be upgraded, and the rooms could use substantial improvements. It was a satisfactory stay, with clear room to improve.

The room at Nirmal Palace Hotel was filthy, with dust and dirt everywhere and patches of mud on the floor. The bedsheets were stained and looked as though they hadn’t been changed for days, and mosquitoes kept buzzing around, making it hard to sleep. The bathroom geyser didn’t work, so I had to take cold showers. Wooden fittings and furniture were damaged, and the bathroom windows felt like cheap temporary fixtures, with no sense of security or insulation. The rooms failed even basic standards for cleanliness and comfort, and the hotel’s upkeep was very poor. I strongly suggest choosing somewhere else in Lucknow. Avoid Nirmal Palace Hotel if you don’t want a miserable stay.
