OYO 7162 Home Stay Shikhar Paradise

The rooms were filthy, with full, uncleared bins, a broken toilet seat, leaking taps, and no soap or towels. We stayed because it was already late, but the rest of the experience was just as bad. We had been promised complimentary breakfast, then staff called in the morning to say it wouldn't be free. The caller's exact words were, “Tab to aise hi bol dia tha,” and then he hung up. Before that, with our train delayed, we arrived at midnight; nobody opened the door for five minutes, and once inside we waited another half hour. Staff seemed clueless about the booking, and the owner, apparently somewhere far away, demanded more than the price agreed on Booking.com. At that hour we gave in and paid more. The staff and owner were extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. OYO and Booking.com should stop promoting it.

What you get doesn't match the photos. They refused bookings made through Oyo or MMT and offered rooms at their own, higher price instead. The bathrooms weren't very clean, and outside food wasn't allowed.

The place used to be someone's house, and the owner has now rented it to the online hotel company #OYO. I picked it because the rate was economical, and the OYO app listed a room heater. No hotel was offering a room for Rs 600, so I drove #11_kms to get here. Once I arrived, the manager flatly refused to provide the heater. My first experience here wasn't very good.

For my wedding, my father-in-law's family stayed here for three days, with all rooms booked for 26th, 27th and 28th November 2022. We agreed on 14 rooms, extra bedding in each, and arrangements for the Sangeet: a stage, tent, chairs, lights, music, and lunch at Rs. 300 per plate with tea included. We paid Rs. 1,21,000 INR in cash when we got the rooms, but the service over those three days fell short. They charged extra for drinking water, the microphone wasn't provided at first for the Sangeet, and the food was disgusting and poorly cooked. My family and I were very dissatisfied. I wouldn't book Shikhar Paradise for an event. Shikhar Paradise should be ashamed of the service it gave us.
