The staff seemed okay, but they said they felt helpless because they weren't making enough to cover their costs and couldn't provide services. I felt sorry for them. Oyo should do something to support the staff. As for the stay, there was no breakfast, and the place didn't feel clean or safe. There were lots of mosquitoes and a bad smell, and the bedsheets were dirty and hadn't been washed. The hotel should advertise what it's actually like.

There’s no working lift even though the guest house is on the second floor, no generator, no car parking, and no Wi-Fi. The washrooms weren’t cleaned properly, and the sanitary fittings were broken and shabby. Staff such as Mr. Mishra smoked in shared areas and even in vacant rooms. I found the staff dishonest, rude, and lacking integrity. We’ve since found much better places to stay in Lucknow, and I’d advise people to avoid this guest house. The place has gone downhill in its condition, service, staff conduct, and comfort. On our last visit, in the scorching heat of June, the room’s A.C. didn’t work all night and we slept sweating. When we checked out the next morning, Mr. Kamlesh said the owner had agreed to waive the room rent because of the problem. We still insisted on paying at least half, since we’d used the lights, fans, and water, and paid that amount as a kind gesture. Later, I called to book again. Mr. Dhanesh Mishra answered and said I couldn’t have a room because I hadn’t paid for the previous stay. I was annoyed and told him to call Kamlesh and check what had actually happened. Once it was clear what had happened, Mr. Mishra said Kamlesh had gone to his village. The staff are liars and cheats, and their hospitality is appalling.

They leave the hotel listed on Oyo even though they won’t accept bookings, apparently because Oyo lowers the room price after noon or at check-in. Then guests arrive and are asked to pay more or left to suffer in the heat. The large sign is so hard to see.

Bad stay. The staff wanted 800 rupees extra in cash, saying Oyo showed a lower price and they couldn't give us a room at that rate.
