Aurika Coorg - Luxury by Lemon Tree Hotels

The vegetarian desserts were a real treat. We rarely see a resort spread with so many eggless, vegetarian-friendly choices, and the food overall was delicious and well prepared. Staff were kind and helpful, especially housekeeping and Riya, Jaya, Katha, Sakir, Anoop, and Chef Paulomi. Sorry to those whose names I missed. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and well cared for, with beautiful surroundings. The pool was the one letdown. Since Coorg stays cool for much of the year, a temperature-controlled pool would be a welcome addition. The indoor kids' play area also looked unclean and poorly maintained. Still, it was a pleasant stay, and I'd recommend it for a relaxed trip to Coorg.

The bonfire storytelling sessions with Mr. Ganesh and Mr. Anoop were a special part of our stay. They knew so much about the local plants and animals, and explained the origin of river Kaveri in detail. Ms. Katha and her team also looked after our needs with real care. Her suggestions for local dishes at lunch and dinner were a hit, and we appreciated Ms. Riya and Ms. Shiwani at the front desk, the valet crew, and everyone who helped keep us comfortable. We were a family of five and stayed two nights. The rooms were spacious, with balconies overlooking the lovely garden, and breakfast had an amazing spread. There was plenty to keep the kids busy, and the woman at nature’s nook was lovely with the younger children, helping them with artwork. The property itself is beautiful, with activities for different ages, and the hospitality was excellent from arrival. Riya handled check-in and checkout wonderfully. At Ghats Cafe, Rashmitha, Puja, and Prafulla were very courteous. Dining had some rough spots. The supervisor came across as curt and unprofessional, and the restaurant could use better organization and staff training. Menus were scarce, and ours was taken to another table while we were still ordering. Table clearing was also often not done properly. The local dishes were good, while the other food was just okay. You can have a good stay here, but service in a few areas could improve to meet Taj property standards. Thanks to Riya and Ganesh for their outstanding service.

Katha talked me into trying the pumpkin dessert, and I'm glad she did, it was really good. She, Rashmita, and Jaya at the restaurant went out of their way to make the stay memorable. The chefs, housekeeping, front desk, and the rest of the property team were great too. Lovely location and hospitality. I'd love to return.
