New Redfern by Treebo

The location wasn’t convenient or particularly friendly. It’s off the road, near shri Omkareshwar temple, and you need to go about 700 mts to the main square to find an auto. Thaliya restaurant is above the hotel and is famous for nonveg, especially pork. The hotel provides free veg breakfast. It’s an eight-room hotel, all on the ground floor, refurbished five years ago with a Treebo badge. Rooms are small and lack useful furniture like bedside tables and a table for bags. The cupboards are tiny and practically useless. There’s AC and TV, and cleaning is done once a day.

The staff were very rude, and we won’t stay here again or use Treebo again. I’ve never seen a worse property in my 70 years. The bathroom, towels, beds and kettle smelled awful, and the bedsheets were dirty. Dinner ran out after one chapati each. The rice we took was half-cooked. At breakfast, the food disappeared quickly, and we left hungry. I would never recommend anyone stay with Treebo.

I was close to booking because the price looked low, then I read the older reviews. People had been reporting problems with the fan, bad smells, the receptionist, and the service attendant for months. Management kept apologizing, but later reviews described the same issues and got the same promise to do better. Nearly a year after these problems were raised, they still seem unresolved. Reviews matter because people read them before booking. Having rooms occupied doesn't by itself mean the hotel is being managed well. With this review, management can know it lost a customer who might have spent money there. That loss isn't necessarily just because it's the off-season. Customers may be choosing competitors.

Being right in the city centre makes getting around very convenient. Beyond the location, though, I didn't find much to like. We had to call the receptionist each time because he was never there and ask him to come over. There are no ceiling fans in the rooms, and the food was decent. I wouldn't recommend it for a family trip.
