The best part was Thelma bringing us hot breakfast every morning at exactly 8. She's knowledgeable, and the room was clean. We were four, a couple with children aged 5 and 2, visiting at the end of September during Dasara. It had been raining heavily and continuously for weeks, but only inside Madikeri, not the surrounding area. We couldn't go out easily, and rain leaked into the bathroom, so the stay wasn't as pleasant as we'd expected. This isn't a whole house for guests, but one large room inside an independent house where Thelma and her family also live. It has an attached bathroom, two double cots, a dining table and chairs, and a balcony. The four-wheeler parking is a couple of blocks away on uneven ground, which wasn't comfortable. Toiletries and towels weren't provided, though blankets were available, and there was no TV. The bathroom needs better privacy, lighting, and amenities. It shares a door with the owner's bedroom, so conversations on both sides could be heard. I wouldn't stay here in the rainy season.
