The location is great, with plenty of car parking and extra space beside the property. Our suite at CR Rivera was neat and clean, and so was the bathroom. It had a smart TV with internet, a kettle, and good central AC. The complimentary breakfast was good too.
We left early and moved to another hotel after a terrible stay. The rooms were dusty and filthy, the pipes leaked, and hot water came and went. The TV didn’t work for our entire stay. We told Mahesh at the front desk, but he argued that it was working and didn’t offer a room change or anything else. I’d avoid this place if possible. There are better options for the same price.
We spent one night here with my parents, and I wouldn’t stay again. Our road side room was noisy and not very clean, and the TV never worked. Reception kept promising it would be ready in 10 minutes, but it wasn’t. Breakfast was meant to begin at 7:30 a.m., but we didn’t get to eat until 8:00 a.m. They kept saying “10 more minutes,” and it ended up taking half an hour.
A decent place for the money, with basic amenities. The AC worked perfectly and the bathroom was clean. I was also able to attend the festival, which was great.
Family stays are recommended here. The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are nice, and breakfast is decent. Its best feature is the location, right around the corner from Madurai's iconic Theppakulam. You can walk over in the evening and enjoy the atmosphere. Weekends are even better, with lots of food choices around Theppakulam. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, plus a pharmacy and other shops close by.
