There are small tea shops outside where you can grab a quick bite and hot tea. The apartment has a large hall, a lift, and plenty of parking outside. Rooms are spacious and tidy, with basic comforts such as running hot water, though not every room has AC. In one apartment, one room had AC and the other only a fan. Getting to the temple takes around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, and autos charge about 150-250 depending on the number of passengers.
If I could give a negative rating, I would. The apartment wasn't even presentable enough to give us a fair idea of what staying there would be like. There was no door lock, and other people staying nearby were drunk and roaming around. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for families.
The parking was cramped and hard to maneuver in, especially with a larger vehicle, which made coming back to the apartment stressful. Service was also poor: staff didn't respond to requests, and when I reported an air conditioning problem, it took far too long to address, leaving me uncomfortable. The apartment hadn't been cleaned well before I arrived. There was dust on surfaces and stained linen. Basic amenities were lacking too: toiletries were missing or low quality, and the kitchen wasn't equipped well enough for preparing simple meals. My stay at Veera Amohaa Service Apartments was unsatisfactory, and I wouldn't recommend it to travelers looking for a comfortable, hassle-free stay in Madurai.
We had already paid for one night, but after all the problems we left immediately and found a hotel. We didn't pursue a refund, and regretted not checking the place properly beforehand. We couldn't bear to stay even one night, and I strongly advise against booking here. We thought we'd booked Anugraha Service Apartment, but were placed in Amoham/Veera Amohaa Service Apartment and only realized it later. The promised two-bedroom flat was supposed to have one AC and one non-AC room, but one bedroom was locked when we arrived. They said the apartment we had booked still had guests and asked us to wait two hours, then said they couldn't move us. Their answer was to unlock the room, which did nothing to fix the state of the flat. The place was filthy and in terrible shape: torn sofas, broken bathroom doors, damaged toilet seats, a faulty water tank and leaking taps. The rooms smelled, and the curtains were unclean, with stained pillows and bed covers. We had a three-year-old with us, so the unhygienic and unsafe conditions were unacceptable. When we complained, they just made excuses. A nightmare of a stay.
It was a decent apartment option, though nothing special, and I wouldn't recommend the amenities. One AC in the apartment wasn't working, and water from the other one was leaking into the room.
