At Mani's Residency, we were left waiting outside our room with our 4-year-old while the staff delayed getting a duplicate key. I kept asking, and they eventually said we'd have to pay 500 or return the original. I asked the restaurant to check the chairs, where we'd left it, and finally found the key. I returned it to the hotel staff in the morning. That was the worst part of the stay. Booking.com said parking was available, but we paid Rs300 for 24 hours at a private lot since the hotel has no parking of its own. If you take the car out, you pay again when you park. That charge wasn't mentioned on Booking.com, and the owners didn't respond properly. Staff helped carry our luggage at check-in, but at checkout nobody even asked if we needed help. We paid Rs. 2623 including GST and weren't given a bill, so I don't know what basis they used to charge the GST.

The location was the main advantage: the hotel is near Meenakshi Amman temple west tower, and Madurai junction railway station and Periyar bus stand are walkable. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, but Gowri Gangga nearby has good vegetarian food. They have a water purifier, an electric kettle, and a hair dryer, though no tea bags. An ordinary coffee costs Rs.40/-. The reception response was satisfactory, and the price was just okay. The room was average, and the bathroom was very dirty and smelled bad. I stayed here on 13.05.2026.

A neat little hotel for a short visit, close to the railway station and walkable if you don't have heavy bags. There's no parking and no restaurant attached, but plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian places to eat nearby.

Friendly reception and good value for money. The room was small but clean, as was the bathroom, and there was warm water. The fan, AC, and Wi-Fi all worked well. It's close to the station and under a 10-minute walk from the temple.

The train station is only about 600 m away, so you probably don't need an auto unless you're carrying lots of luggage or traveling with older people. Our room was clean and had the essentials, including AC and a TV. They also provide dental and shaving kits, plus a hair dryer, which is unusual for such a budget-friendly hotel. There's a lift too. Sorry if I've made any grammar mistakes.
