Hotel Rajesh

The location is good and the garden area is pleasant. The pool looks decent at first, but upkeep is lacking, and the kids’ garden and play area badly need renovation. The rest of the property feels neglected, with outdated rooms, furniture, and facilities that seem not to have had proper renovation in 10-15 years. There was visible fungus on the walls and in corners, and the place felt damp. Hygiene was awful: breakfast plates had stains and even hair on them. I paid ₹15,000 offline for one night in a quad room, which is outrageous for what’s offered. They call it a 2-star hotel, but I don’t think it deserves that. It’s overpriced, unhygienic, and poorly maintained. Stay away unless you want to waste money and ruin your trip. Don’t even consider visiting without a prior reservation.

The hotel is right beside Mahableshwar city centre and the bus stand, and it’s a place for people who value family time. It’s always been my favourite hotel in Mahableshwar, even though it’s on the expensive side. I think I’ve been coming here for almost 25 years. The Veg Thali brings back great memories. Other, better options have come along, but memories are memories.

The staff were really nice and cooperative, and the bathroom was small but clean. Our rooms were a good size, though the rooms and furniture are old, so don’t expect anything fancy. We had two mid-category rooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first. There’s no lift in this G+1 building. The ground-floor rooms may suit senior citizens, though there are 8-10 steps to reach that floor. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were below par. There’s a large property with lots of open space, a swimming pool, and a splash pool. The location is excellent, just 4-5 minutes from the market and Volvo bus drop. It was a good stay, but overpriced at Rs 5700. Hotels in Mahableshwar do tend to be slightly overpriced. Hotel Rajesh is a good option if you want a family property close to the market.

The reception staff were rude and unprofessional. The room was unhygienic, with a used, smelly towel and a refrigerator that didn’t work. When we complained, the staff said they’d already shown us the room and we had chosen it. They don’t have a hair dryer and don’t provide bottled water.
