Ivy Park Resort

The manager wasn’t helpful when we raised these problems. He made excuses and said there could be no partial refund because we booked through Agoda. He even claimed he didn’t know we had reserved two rooms. Our stay at Ivy Park Resort, Mahabaleshwar was a very bad experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We paid ₹1,000 extra for our child, even though the policy said children could stay free without an extra bed. The two Premium Rooms with Balcony also looked different from the online photos. At check-in, they were dirty and dusty, the toilets were dirty too, and there was a bad smell. We asked several times for housekeeping and left our keys at reception four times, but the rooms were never cleaned during our two-night stay. Plates and rubbish sat outside for almost two days. When we complained about the delay, the staff member who came was rude and argued instead of helping. There was no security. I saw a drunk man peering into our room from the side wall, and the window had no lock. The staff also seemed suspicious in their behavior, as if they might be trying to scam us. The resort isn’t properly maintained, and the poor cleaning and unprofessional service spoiled our family holiday.

We were a group of 11 families at Ivy Resort for a day, and the team made us feel looked after from the start. Mr. Mangesh handled the booking with real care, keeping in touch and making sure everything was arranged before we arrived. The facilities were lovely: clean pool, tidy rooms, manicured lawns, and music that kept things lively. Mr. Pratik Joshi, the Operations Head, was around late at night and back on the floor early the next morning. He responded quickly and professionally to every concern. Mama and Mustaq were cheerful and attentive while serving guests late into the night and early in the morning. We had a great group stay and are already looking forward to coming back.

I booked a standard room, and the AC didn’t work at all. Reception said they’d fix it, but nobody came, so I had to sleep without AC in the hot weather. The food was both late and very poor. I ordered dinner at night and waited around two hours. I called several times and kept being told it would arrive in ten minutes. After about an hour and a half, I asked them to cancel and went to sleep. Half an hour later, a waiter still showed up with the food. I’d already cancelled, so this is a serious concern. The food tasted bad, and I could barely eat it. At checkout I specifically asked for the hotel stamp on my invoice. The receptionist said they’d send it later on WhatsApp, but after three days of follow-ups I still haven’t heard back. Don’t get caught in this. I wanted to give zero stars for the service, but that wasn’t an option.

The next morning we went out and came back to find the rooms still untouched, even though we’d handed over the keys three times. The food left outside had been there overnight and into the next day, and the leftover food and toilet smelled bad. We’d paid for room service and basic cleaning, but neither was provided. We asked for a partial refund and were refused with lame excuses, so we left. We didn’t make a scene, call the police, or threaten anyone. We simply walked off after paying ₹15,800 for two rooms. Losing that money was frustrating, and our complaint is real. We came for a pleasant stay, but the experience was horrible. When we first arrived, the rooms weren’t as spacious as the online pictures suggested, and some of the furniture shown wasn’t there. We adjusted on the first day and used the pool, which was fine. After that, there were power cuts, the TV didn’t work, there was dust, the blanket smelled, and the bathroom had a fishy smell. We put up with it because we’d paid, but the room wasn’t even clean when we arrived. I also felt unsafe when a drunk man peered into my room and smiled. The cleaning staff behaved aggressively, and their language and attitude were upsetting. The staff and manager should be welcoming; the way the manager replied to my review made it seem as if the fault was ours, even though that day he’d admitted their mistake and said the clearance should have been done. Anyone can sit at a computer and post a reply, but that tone shows how guests may have felt there. Why would we plan to waste ₹15,800 by leaving two paid rooms? We came for a pleasant stay, not to damage a hotel’s reputation. Guests have the freedom to give an honest personal review when they’re unhappy, and frustration after a loss like this is understandable. Other people have posted bad reviews with pictures too. I wish I’d checked them before paying. We don’t expect five-star service, just ordinary room cleaning. Get the hotel cleaned properly and welcome your guests. We’ll post good reviews when we have a good experience.
