Jijau Residency Mahabaleshwar

It felt like a second home. The rooms were properly cleaned, the water supply was reliable, and both hot and cold water were available. The staff were very humble and helped arrange cabs for sightseeing, plus gave us guidance on shopping and getting around locally. We loved the food. They offer homemade meals as well as restaurant food, and we chose the homemade option. The restaurant food was good too. The tea was so good we ordered double every day. The walls or rooms did nothing to block the TV sound at night. We could hear every line from someone's TV, and it kept us from sleeping. The room was awful, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or Oyo to anyone. In all my trips, I’ve never had service or “free breakfast” like this. They promise good service and charge plenty when you book, but the reality was the worst. I’ve never seen anything like it. It feels like they’re just scamming people. I booked Jijau after seeing good reviews, but I can’t understand how anyone rated it well. The booking said free breakfast, yet all we got was one poor-quality potato paratha, as in the attached picture. When I asked the owner, he said they only receive 50 rupees for breakfast and can’t give more, and told me to check with Oyo. The hotel manager was rude and gave a very dumb explanation. There was no mention anywhere of limited breakfast or just one potato paratha. I was with family, and the owner immediately blamed Oyo.

For couples or any kind of trip or holiday, I recommend Jijau Residency. It’s one of the best places to stay in mahabaleshwar (Met gutad), with good-quality food, nice rooms, and cooperative staff. Vijay is a very good person who handles everything. Best regards, Shailesh Mhaskar

What a bad stay. The Delux room felt cramped and the view wasn’t great. The bedsheets had stains, and there was no soap or hand wash in the bathroom. You had to call the caretaker for everything, even hot water. It wasn’t worth the price, especially with so many better options in Mahabaleshwar/Panchgani.
