The food was the main reason I’d come back. It was top-notch and very tasty, and the complimentary breakfast had plenty of choices with excellent quality. The location near Mapro Garden on the Mahabaleshwar–Panchgani road is handy, with most tourist spots close by. The hotel is well kept, rooms were in excellent condition and cleaned daily, and service was prompt and organized. I stayed here nine years ago when it was called “West Hill,” and was pleased to see the overall improvement. It was a very good experience after all that time, though a few things need attention: our TV didn’t work, the room phone was dead, and some switch plugs were open. I’d still recommend it and would definitely return.
2/10
I can’t give zero stars, so this gets one. We were eight people, yet our rooms were scattered across different floors, and the manager was rude. The dals smelled of chlorine, the pool was tiny, the lift was out of order for quite a while, and the Wi-Fi never worked. Stay here only if you’re okay with all that.
8/10
The staff helped with our check-in request, and the property is nice with beautiful rooms. We skipped breakfast and ordered room service, which was decent. Getting there is the problem. The road to the hotel is badly broken. On arrival, carrying luggage downhill is easy, but at checkout you have to haul it uphill on that rough road. The hotel should have offered help, but we were left to manage it ourselves.
10/10
The restaurant is clean and the breakfast package has good vegetarian choices. The rooms are nice and have a view, though they’re expensive, and you have to remind staff about service. Parking is available outside the property. There’s no swimming pool, just a small kids’ pool.
10/10
The staff, especially Ravi and Ajay, were so polite and helpful, and our room was clean and well maintained. Hotel Jivanta Mahabaleshwar is conveniently placed between Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, just a short walk from Mapro Garden. We had a wonderful stay, and I’d highly recommend it for a comfortable base near the major spots.
