Shanti Kunj villa

The villa was very clean, including all the rooms and the pool, and the food was nice too. We came with elderly family members and small kids and had no problems with either. There was loads of space to play and a private pool, so everyone had a great time. The kids really didn’t want to leave. We’ll visit again.

It’s a bungalow, not a hotel, and it’s a nice spot for a weekend. The main bungalow has four bedrooms, plus there’s a separate building with two rooms. It sits a bit away from the city, which we liked. A caretaker can prepare food, but you need to let them know ahead of time.

The peaceful setting and ambience are lovely, and they let people play through the night. But some services were promised during booking and then said to be unavailable after we booked. Service wasn’t great. The food tasted good and dishes like paneer masala were priced well, but even after we asked them to keep our food, they threw it away when we didn’t eat it that night. There were lots of excuses, and what we paid didn’t match the service we got. Consider the place carefully. The good points don’t outweigh the bad.

Breakfast was served at 11 am, after we’d already waited two hours. Even after we informed them a day ahead, some items weren’t available, and the portions weren’t enough. The caretaker and his boss were extremely slow and showed no regard for our time. The views are supposed to be the property’s main draw, but only the front cottage has one. The back cottage is cramped and has no view, which we weren’t told before booking. The caretaker has covered the whole cottage and its windows with a sheet that can’t be moved, so you can’t even open the windows. The location and view, if you get the front cottage, are the only good things. Overall, it wasn’t worth what we paid.
