Tranquil Treasure

The mountain views are amazing, and the lone caretaker provided good service, but the rooms are in terrible shape for the price. There’s water leaking from the ceiling, the rooms aren’t soundproof, and they’re unclean, with webs and poor lighting. There is 24-hour hot water, but the bathroom is so bad that it’s hard to use it. The ground-floor rooms don’t have TVs either. If the owner pays attention and improves and furnishes the rooms, the online price could be worth it. As it stands, the rooms are pathetic.

The caretaker was fantastic, and their hospitality is the reason I stayed. The property is in a fantastic location, but its condition needs urgent attention from investors, the owner, or a developer. Some good decisions are needed to improve the place.

The caretaker was okay, and that was the only good part. Most photos are fake, the rooms smell, and only two or three rooms have a lakeside view; the rest have no view. The owner lives elsewhere and was very rude, seeming interested only in the money and unconcerned about anything else. I had a very bad experience because of the owner’s rudeness and don’t recommend this property.

It’s an eight-room place without an in-house cafe or restaurant, but they’ll make tea, coffee, bread, and omelets any time. With advance notice, the caretaker’s family cooks delicious lunch and dinner at low prices. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, and the views are astounding. The drive in takes skill on single-lane roads with hairpin bends and steep cliffs. There aren’t restaurants or cafes nearby, which added to the peaceful, close-to-nature stay my wife and I wanted.
