The sea-facing suites were lovely, clean, and well maintained. The pool and play area were nice, the food was decent, and the kitchen staff were good. But our next day in two standard rooms was a different story: they were dirty and moldy, and there were dirty, moldy pillows in the wardrobe. We had a 1 pm checkout and asked for more time. The receptionist kept calling and saying the rooms were full, which was a big lie. Then the buggy driver stood outside our room staring at us as we packed. It felt very rude. The stay started off pleasantly, but leaving became torture because they rushed us. It's worthwhile only if you stay in one of the big suites facing the sea.

Beach access, indoor games, and a children's play area made this a fun, relaxing choice for a family with kids. We enjoyed the stay, and the service was excellent. There was plenty of well-prepared, flavorful food to choose from. I'd highly recommend it for families.

We planned a staycation at Shelter resort with our toddler, but the premium deluxe room wasn't a good choice. It was on the first floor, though nobody told us that, and we had trouble finding it. Ants, insects, and lizards kept getting inside even with the doors shut. We had to call housekeeping repeatedly to clear them out, and reception could have handled things better. The beach was clean and neat. Food was good at both restaurants, and breakfast had a good spread. The service staff were polite and helpful. Still, I wouldn't recommend premium deluxe rooms if you're traveling with kids or older people. Ask about other rooms.

We came mainly to eat at Sea View Restaurant Manam, and it was excellent. Mr. Muthu, the kids’ magician, made the evening memorable with delightful tricks that brought so much joy to my little one.

There was a sewage smell around the property and in the washroom, which is why I'm giving four stars. I hope they fix it soon. The stay was excellent otherwise: spacious rooms, a nice atmosphere and setting, a good breakfast that was better than at other resorts, and a pleasant lawn with a swing and space to play and walk.
