Hotel Rosary House Mavlan

Rosary House felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. The hosts were friendly and ready to help, and the rooms and grounds were clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of space among the coconut trees, so it feels calm and breezy. We were just a short walk from Chiwla Beach, which was handy for a stroll and sunset views. The food was another highlight: bring fresh fish and they’ll make delicious, authentic-tasting homemade Malwani meals. It felt like a proper coastal feast at home. I’d be happy to stay at Rosary House again when visiting Malvan.

We had spacious rooms, but the stay felt like poor value for money, especially for a family expecting basic hotel services and clear pricing. Please take this feedback positively so other people who book directly don’t run into the same issues. I found the property through MakeMyTrip, but it showed as full, so I contacted the owner. He sent rates on WhatsApp, which I accepted, and I paid an advance. I’d asked whether breakfast was included, but got no answer. We were travelling with my wife, our child and two senior citizens, so clear arrangements mattered. When we arrived, staff didn’t know we’d booked two apartments. They were assigned in separate complexes, and we had to ask to have them placed together. We even accepted the additional cost to make that happen. The room rate was high, and there were extra charges. Breakfast wasn’t complimentary and had to be paid for separately, something nobody had told us beforehand. There were no complimentary water bottles either. The passage lights were often switched off for reasons that weren’t clear, which was inconvenient with a child and senior citizens. They need to explain rates and charges to guests in advance. I wouldn’t recommend this place, particularly to families looking for transparency.

The room was big and clean, and service was good. Both the staff and owner were very polite. I’d recommend this place for couples or families.

Breakfast was tasty, and the resort is near Chivala Beach. I stayed in a Delux Room, which was spacious, but it leaked when it rained. They don’t take individual food orders, so don’t count on ordering meals from them.
