Dil Bole Pahad - The Wooden Chalet, Prini, Manali

We booked the whole four bedroom property for our group of 8-10, and it looked just like the photos. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed in Himachal, though the price is the one drawback. The food and fireplace are also a little pricey. The fireplace costs INR 2000 for two hours of wood. The property is in Prini, with a nice view of snow capped mountains. It isn’t easy to get to the market, so a cab is the only transport option. The caretaker did bring us regular snacks from the market when he went out on his own errands. Inside, the all wood interiors keep things considerably warmer. There are kettles in the bedrooms, rubber crocs to wear indoors, heated mattresses, and heaters in every room and the common area. The food choices were good and the dishes decently cooked. The indoor fireplace was nice to have, and the common area has comfortable seating and a few board games. In winter, the rooms and balcony get good sunlight. It was a comfortable, luxurious stay for our group.

The Wooden Chalet’s quiet setting made it easy to get away from the bustle, while still being close to Manali’s main attractions. I spent time exploring nearby villages, trekking in the valleys, and relaxing around the chalet. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with lovely mountain views. The staff were warm and went out of their way to make the stay memorable. I loved the cozy, rustic feel, especially the wooden architecture.

We felt right at home here. Anil, Dishu, and the rest of the staff looked after us so well, and meals and housekeeping were great. The views from every room were magnificent. One of the finest stays we’ve had in Manali, especially if you want something luxurious that still feels homey.

We barely felt the need to leave, since the location itself gave us such lovely views. There was snow all around and we even saw snowfall. Four families stayed at Wooden Chalet for three nights, from 25 to 28 Dec 2024, and it was a memorable, hassle free time, one of the best experiences of our lives. The place was very well maintained, and Anil, the caretaker, did a fantastic job. Hats off to Anshuman and Anil for making our stay so wonderful.
