The location worked well for getting around. It’s on Mall Road, with cafes nearby, cabs available at one end, the bus station within walking distance, and Van Vihar close by. But the stay itself was disappointing. The food was the worst I’ve had, and since meals were included in our Travel Triangle package, we couldn’t do much about it. Cleanliness also fell short. We’d booked a deluxe room, but were put in top-floor rooms with wooden roofs. They told us those were deluxe rooms at check-in, and we only learned later they were standard. There’s an iron staircase up from the road, which would be very hard for an elderly person to climb. I’d only consider this place if money were really tight or I were traveling alone. Couples and anyone traveling with older people should look elsewhere. And don’t eat here. We stayed over New Year’s Eve 2019.

I could walk to the bus stand and Mall Road, which made it easy to head out trekking, shop, or arrange onward travel without paying for local transport. The manager, Mr Pankaj, helped me get a good room and sort out my tour plans after I arrived from Leh. Check-in was quick, and the room was comfortable, with large clean bathrooms, a 30 inch TV, cushioned chairs, and decorative curtains. There’s no room service, and the hotel has only a few rooms, so book ahead in peak season.

They demanded an extra 1000-1500 on top of the OYO booking price. When we wouldn’t pay, they refused to let us check in, leaving cancellation as the only option. The staff were very arrogant. Be careful of this hotel.

The owner and staff were friendly, and the rooms were kept clean. The owner can help arrange vehicles and adventure sports around Manali, and the price was comparatively better. It’s right on Mall Road, opposite the RTC bus complex, in the middle of the market. Rates go up several times during festive periods, depending on demand. There’s no phone connection from the room to reception.

The pictures showed completely different rooms. What we got were filthy, shabby local rooms. I was completely disappointed. If there were a minus-five rating, I’d give it one. I forgot to take photos, or I would have uploaded them.
