Mountain View Cottage

The room has a fantastic view, and the food was genuinely delicious. Staff were good with service and hospitality. Getting to Mall Road takes about 10 minutes by taxi or rickshaw and costs around Rs. 100-150, so it’s a little out of the way. Wi-Fi was average, and the TV didn’t work when the weather was bad. You’ll need a heater to keep the room comfortable, which costs an extra Rs. 500 per day.

The attendant was friendly and polite, and took care of whatever we needed during our stay. The rooms were good, with a geyser, heater, TV, charging points, and thick blankets. Food was tasty and felt homemade. They can also arrange a honeymoon setup with a decorated bed and candlelight dinner if you ask. The hotel is well maintained and has the amenities you need. We had a great experience here, and the price was reasonable.

Food was wildly overpriced. They charged Rs. 250 for daal that was mostly water. The room amenities were broken, the rooms weren’t maintained, and service was very poor. The staff seemed lazy too. Manali has much better places to stay, so I’m not sure how this property is still in business.

We planned on staying three days and ended up there for a whole week. My wife and daughter enjoyed it, and the rooms were cozy and comfortable enough to feel like home. We loved the view from the room. The owner and service staff were helpful and gave us useful information. I’d stay at mountain view lodge again if I return to Manali. Edward.
