We only stopped in to ask about room availability, but the receptionist was so dismissive and rude that the place felt completely unwelcoming. The customer service was awful. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I’d avoid it.

The amenities advertised online were either out of service or in poor shape, and the staff took a long time to respond when I brought up problems. They also seemed uninterested in hearing my concerns. My room wasn't clean when I arrived, with visible dust and stains, and there was a lingering smell in the bathroom. It was a disappointing stay that fell well below what I expected. I wouldn't recommend it unless they make significant improvements.

My dinner money was wasted. I paid for the meal, but staff would just come by and say, “aaj yeh bana hai,” and that dish triggered my allergy. The room had no fan, and the TV was there only for show. I left my keys with the staff so they could clean while I was out, but they didn't do it. When I asked, they looked at me like I was an alien. The place was filthy and unhygienic, with broken tiles and a broken washbasin, and sometimes there was no water. There’s no lift, just a staircase that was always dirty. I’ve seen public toilets cleaner. Honestly, a chawl might be safer and cleaner. I can't even describe how horrible the stay was. If negative stars were possible, that’s what I’d give. Better to sleep at a railway station than here.

Our three-night stay was a problem from start to finish. The room was dirty, the bathroom floor was broken, the taps didn't work properly, and the window was broken too. We had torn blankets, no intercom, and no television. The sweeper was rude when we asked him to clean. He kept muttering and swearing, asked us for money, then slammed the door as he left. He also deliberately rinsed the bathroom cleaning cloth in the bathroom basin and rubbed it on our mattresses. I've never encountered staff like that. I hope Kalinga Intercontinental fixes these problems instead of reporting and deleting reviews, as it did before with one of my family member's reviews. It seems they don't want people to know the truth. This hotel is a trap for tourists visiting Manali. Kalinga Dharamshala would be a more fitting name than Intercontinental.

My parents and their camping team stayed here last night, and the experience was bad enough that my father asked me to leave a negative review. He rarely complains. The rooms were dirty, the fans unstable, and the food was poor and unhealthy. Be careful if you're planning to stay here. An upset stomach could affect your Manali trip.
