Mr. Thakur was especially hospitable. He helped plan our daily tours, let us stay in a room after checkout, and personally dropped us at the bus stand. The hotel feels like home, with clean rooms and washrooms that housekeeping tidies every day. The staff are polite and well behaved. Food is cooked after you order, and it tastes homemade. The hotel is near mall road, with plenty of restaurants nearby. I’d recommend staying here at least once when visiting Manali.

The rooms are spacious and nice, and you can walk to mall road, Hadimba Temple, and club house. They were quite cold, so it’s better to get room heaters. The receptionist doesn’t tell you about all the available services and facilities. We tried the breakfast, which was good, actually better than the veg restaurants outside.

It gets pleasantly cold here, so bring winter clothes. I visited during the rainy season, though winter seems the best time to come. The staff are polite, but strict about departure times, allowing only about 10 extra minutes to pack up and leave. The hotel is close to the market and mall road, with lots of eateries around, but sits off the main road, so it’s less noisy. The location makes it easy to reach major tourist spots. An old Buddhist Pagoda is 100-200 meters away, and Manali nature park is across the road, about 500-600 meters away. I had a great stay in 2018, and the service was good enough. The rooms had lovely wooden interiors, up-to-date bathroom facilities, a large bathroom, and 24-hour running water. There was also a TV with lots of channels. The ground-floor restaurant was well equipped and served many kinds of meals. Its wooden interior matched the rooms and looked nice, and the food was hygienic and tasty. Some entrances are wheelchair accessible.

Sitting on the balcony early in the morning was a real plus. The hotel was clean throughout, with a nice little restaurant, a beautiful garden, and cozy wood-paneled rooms. It has a great location and quick service. As a 3-star hotel, it fully lives up to its rating. The staff were helpful and courteous, and everything, including towels and soap, was already set out in the room and bathroom before we checked in.

I’m writing this after our first night of a two-night booking. The first-floor balcony has no open area, despite what the photos on Google and the website led me to expect. I can’t say whether the other floors are different. The location is very convenient, just a few steps from mall road, with all kinds of necessities nearby. The staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are good, but for the price they didn’t meet my expectations. Still, it’s been a good experience at hotel Simlog Garden.
