Tucked into an apple orchard above Manali, this cottage feels like a quiet break from the town's crowds, noise, and traffic. It's a short hike up from the road, but the views at any time of day, especially in the mornings, make it worthwhile. The cottage is beautiful, warm, and panelled in Himalayan pine, with exceptionally clean rooms and bathrooms. The staff are friendly and so helpful, always doing what they can to make you feel at home. It's one of the friendliest places I've stayed, and I'll come back whenever I'm in Manali.

The hosts are lovely, and both their hospitality and home-cooked food were a real highlight. It's great value for money. You're away from the bustle but still just 500 metres from Mall Road, making this a perfect place to stay in Manali.

Mr Govind is a wonderfully hospitable host and gave us everything we asked for. He's also an amazing chef. The place really lives up to its name: you can spot Blue Magpie birds from morning to evening. Don't miss it.

The uphill climb to get here gives it a bit of a trekking feel, which trekkers may enjoy. Once there, the cottage is clean and lovely, surrounded by apple trees and a garden, with marvellous views all day. I'm completely taken with the place and its hospitality. The food is incredible too, I don't think you'll find cooking like this anywhere in town. Keep it up, Govind n Abhay! :)

From the sitouts you can look over Manali, and the nearby forest has trails to untouched spots. It's a great base for trekking, house parties, or longer stays, with delicious food and hosts who make you feel welcome. You can be close to the main town while escaping its traffic and noise. Ask for the homemade pizzas.
