The Lama House by OpenSky

The surroundings were amazing, and we had a very pleasant two-day stay at Lama House. There were 10 of us in the group, and Pavindar and Prakesh gave us a warm welcome. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the home-cooked food tasted good.

We were left without heat in sub-zero temperatures when the generators were turned off after midnight. The heaters and geysers weren't working, and there were no extra blankets. Food arrangements were inadequate too. This was the worst stay I've ever had, and the property didn't meet StayVista's standards. The host was generous, but the owner was extremely rude and showed no basic guest etiquette. It feels like they're charging for the view alone. I don't recommend this property, look for other options nearby.

Once you get there, the staff are good and the property is spacious for large groups of families travelling together. The building is nicely done, with a great view and a peaceful feel. But our food was only average, and getting a decent cup of tea seemed to come down to luck. We ordered from outside most of the time. It's 3km uphill from mall road, along a tough route, and the place is hard to find because there are no signboards. Take one wrong turn and getting back is a nightmare. An auto from mall road for 200 bucks may get you to the right place. The last 100mtrs are very narrow and makeshift, so you need to be a trained driver to get through without hitting your car.

We were travelling with kids and had no issues at all. The house is lovely, right at the top, with beautiful snow all around and no one disturbing you. We didn't need to go to the snow point to see snowfall. Special thanks to the staff, especially Pavinder ji and Rishi ji, for their warm hospitality. A great place to spend the holidays at Lama house.
