The location made it easy to explore the market and nearby attractions, with Mall Road Manali only a 5-minute walk away. Hotel Paramount also arranged car service for sightseeing at Sissu Valley and Atal Tunnel for an additional cost, which was convenient for our trip. I had a very good, comfortable and enjoyable stay. All the services were excellent, and the staff stayed polite and supportive throughout. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Manali.
The rooms were dirty and smelled awful, and the beds, blankets and curtains all had a disgusting smell. We’d paid in advance for two nights, but the unfriendly staff never mentioned that the heater cost ₹500 extra per room per night. We were travelling with three kids in -5°C weather, so we needed one. They only told us about the charge after we reached the room at night. We left after one night because of these problems and got no refund. Very disappointing, not recommended.
The cottage looked amazing, just like a cottage, which is why we booked it. But the rooms hadn’t been cleaned, and we later found rats, including a dear rat too too. The glass and sink were dirty as well. When we told them, they did send staff to clean, which was good. They also need to repair the telephones, none of them worked.
The staff were helpful, but our stay was bad enough that we left after one night even though we had booked two. The bedding had black stains, and the blanket from the wardrobe smelled as if it hadn't been washed for weeks. There was no heater listed when we booked. They gave us a heater rod when we asked, but it didn't work, so my kids and I shivered through the night. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
My friends and I were kept at reception for 30-40 minutes while staff shouted at us and called other people over, which felt like an attempt to intimidate us. This started after we checked out about 20-30 minutes late. They demanded a ₹1000 fine and another unexplained ₹500, and got aggressive when we calmly asked what the charges were. We agreed to pay just to leave, but the bad behavior continued, including bad language and what felt like an arrogant "local attitude." Our checkout was 11:00 AM, yet reception had been calling our room repeatedly from 9:00 AM and disrupting our sleep. We stayed one night at Hotel New Paramount in Manali. My friends and I managed the situation, but this behavior is unacceptable. How would a family be treated? The owner needs to change this aggressive, unprofessional staff.
